If I looked back through the years at what started me on this path I'm drawn back to early memories of spending holidays on my grandparents farm in Central Victoria. We would jump in the old ute and drive up Grandad's hill to watch the Wedgetail eagles gliding across the landscape. Aside from their obvious prowess in the air I was fascinated by their extraordinary eye site that could spot a scampering mouse from 1000ft up in the air. I always wondered what the landscape must look like from so high up and what we must have looked like to them.
One day my grandparents drove me to the glider airfield located just on the other side of their farm and paid for me to take a 10 minute ride in a Glider. Whilst I was too short to see over the instrument panel I could still make out the clouds and the endless expanse of green farmland as we banked in and out of thermals. I must have been about 6 years old at the time and I often wonder if Grandma and Grandad realised just what they had started all those years ago. They lit a fire in me for which I will be forever grateful.
Now each time I go up I'm reminded of how lucky I am to be doing what I love.
I have a website, which I regularly update with samples of my work.
